Over the last weekend, I was wondering whether we were actually going to see Summer with all the rain and thunder rumbling around. But within a couple of hours we were sitting in the garden enjoying a barbecue! It’s great weather for Christmas Trees though….The last couple of months have been all about growth here at Ty Cerrig. The Norway Spruces have been bursting out their beautifully soft new shoots….
The pines have been adorned with cones, their new growth shoots standing proudly to attention.
Nordmann Firs are a bit slower to wake up after the winter. Here’s how they were looking in May. They’re catching up now….
Even our tractor has grown…
Sadly, we had to say good-bye to Henry to make room for “Big Red” – we’re still thinking of a good name for the new tractor – suggestions welcome!! Henry has gone to a fruit farm in Canterbury where he will be joining a team of Ford 1210’s. They are the tractor of choice over there as they fit inside the poly tunnels where the soft fruit is grown.
And finally….our big (cake & biscuit baking) girl got a bit bigger, celebrating her 12th birthday on 31st May.
Doesn’t time fly!!
And on that note, I’ll just remind you all that there are now less than 200 days ‘til Christmas 2014 – best start the shopping!!
